Rebecca Baruch is a Toronto-born, Los Angeles-based writer who still wishes she grew up in Narnia. Since the wardrobe never opened, she now creates her own high-stakes worlds instead.

She’s worked across the industry in development for both film and television — from independent production companies in Toronto, London, and New York to major studios like Sony in Los Angeles. Most recently, she wrapped work on Amazon Studios’ limited series Expats, collaborating closely with showrunner Lulu Wang and producer Dani Melia. She also penned an upcoming teen horror feature, set to film in summer 2025.

Rebecca earned her M.F.A. in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute Conservatory, where she was a Screenwriting Fellow. Her storytelling is fueled by humor, empathy, and an unwavering belief in complex, fearless female leads.

Currently, she’s producing a feature-length documentary and serving as a creative producer on multiple podcasts. She’s completed her debut novel and is deep into her second—each unapologetically adventurous, fiercely female-driven, and wonderfully escapist (because, come on, who doesn’t love a good plot twist?).

As a collaborator, Rebecca brings tireless grit, open-minded curiosity, and passionate commitment to every project—always striving for perfection, while proudly settling for excellence.
